MOLSTEAR® SORT is an organic compound widely recognized as Sorbitan Tristearate. It occurs as light cream to tan beads or flakes or a hard, waxy solid. Sorbitan tristearate (known as E492 or Span 65) is a waxy, lipophilic emulsifier used primarily to stabilize fat-rich mixtures, control crystal formation and prevent separation in food products.

It acts as an anti-crystallization agent in cooking oils, palm oil and margarine, keeping products clear and smooth at varying temperatures.

3 Solubility It is slightly soluble in toluene, ether, carbon tetrachloride, and ethyl acetate and is dispersible in petroleum ether, mineral oil, vegetable oils, acetone and dioxane. It is insoluble in water, methanol and ethanol.
4 Water Not more than 1.5%.
5 Lead Not more than 2 mg/kg.
6 Acid value Not more than 15.
7 Hydroxyl value Between 66 to 80.
8 Saponification Value Between 176 to 188.
9 Residue on ignition Not more than 0.5%.

PACKAGING
